Like Marty McFly’s dad, I’ve always wanted to write a book, and now I have. It’s probably not all that good, but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every minute of writing it, and now I’m going to attempt to mould it into something readable. While I do that I thought I might publish some of the offcuts here, as a way of softening the blow when I actually push the finished article out in to the world.

So here is a taster, recently cut from the manuscript and offered to you like the little bit grisly bit chopped off a steak while you wait for it to rest. Sort of.

The little bit could be called The Prof’s not a Paedo - and it’s been cut for obvious reasons. I reckon it’d be a hard enough sell as an anti-potter teenage sci-fi book as it is without stuff like this in it. Please excuse the spelling and grammar - I’ve enough to do fixing the stuff I want to keep without spell-checking the rejects as well.

My second attempt at filming something with the ace 8mm Vintage Camera App for iPhone. This time I risked life and limb by actually being in the street with the ruffians during the build-up to one of those “football matches” that happen down the end of my road every week. If the last one doesn’t win an oscar this one’s a shoe in.

Technology, eh? Amazing - It really is a pleasure to be able to film and edit something just on the iPhone, including putting together a rough cut while sat waiting for my wife to try on a dress whilst out shopping.
The only problem is I can’t figure out how to insert a black/blank screen in ReelDirector, and have to resort to filming the inside of my pyjama bottoms leg, which looks fine on the iPhone but crap on a full screen. Any ideas? Let me know.
